Ever wonder how long you can get away with not registering your car??

So this happened a bit ago but I forgot to tell everyone the exciting story.
As you may know I moved back here a few years ago from Texas. And I LOVE Texas. I love it so much I couldn't bring myself to get rid of my Texas license plates. I decided that I was just going to keep them until someone told me I HAD to change them.
Well people, that day came. I was driving back from a meeting at work when for no reason a cop pulls me over. There were no pleasantries just "License and Registration" to which I answered..."I don't have any registration" well he got VERY upset...and asked me "Have you REALLY not registered your car since 2006!" well no...is that bad??? " Is there any REASON you haven't resisted your car?!" Umm no reason...just lazy. I didn't want to tell him my REAL reason because I don't think he would have appreciated it very much. He was very cranky and tells me to call someone because he is impounding my car. WHAT! do you HAVE to impound it?? can't you just give me a ticket? "NO IT'S BEEN THREE YEARS!!!" WOW, who new three years was such a big deal. So I just informed him that I worked right around the corner so I would just walk! He was really bugged by me...It was weird. It's like he took personal offense to my not registering my car. Whatever...so I called my hubby John and let him know that I had finally been caught and my car was getting impounded as we speak...He wasn't that thrilled but since he knew this day was coming he just complained about how much money I was costing him and left work to come get me out of my little jam. I have to say...we had that baby out in record time. I had the thing registered and out of impound in like 2 hours... SO SUCK IT COPPER!! AND I think it ended up 6's as far as cost goes...SO THERE!! So sadly I have Utah plates now...and I will have to register the thing every freaken year. =(
So for anyone with out of state plates wondering how long they can get away with not registering them....about 3 years.. that's pretty dang good if you ask me =)

I'm a Princess!

Last Saturday I got to go to a kids carnival hosted by the Utah Kids Club. And I got to be a PRINCESS! It was SO much fun. I just walked around all day and got to give hugs to all the little kids and get my picture taken. It was so cute! As you can see they also had star wars guys for the boys to get excited about. If any of you are not members of the Utah Kids Club you need to check it out. I don't even have kids and I want to be a member. The carnival was at Wheeler Farm and they had shops and lazer tag and bounce houses and face painting and more all for 2bucks a person! It was crazy!
I had so much fun but I have to say I couldn't walk the next day because my legs hurt so bad from bending up and down a million times...those kids are just so little.

Still not preggo.....still waiting......

Pregnancy Watch 2009

Well folks....I did it. I finally got my IUD out and we are "trying". As most of you know I am a big chicken when it comes to this, but I faced my fear and I am ready! I guess almost dying and being a hospital pin cushion helped me see that if I could handle THAT, then I can handle anything. So cross your fingers and toes and join us as we hold our breath and wait for the big announcement!

I know! I know!!

Ok so I know that I SUCK at posting on my blog...it's only because I have a way boring life and not much new happens. I'm all better from my surgery and back to work and school. I am about to finish my spring semester and I will have a bit of a break until I start Summer semester. That's right, no rest for me. It's already going to take me 10 years to finish so I can't afford any breaks. But I LOVE it, so I don't mind going forever =)... John's company was hit in this economy and we thought he might be laid off, or the company would go under, so we were preparing for the worst...luckily things seem to be looking up. He is back to working 10hrs a day and the company actually had to turn down a job because they had too many! So even though we were kindof looking forward to a nice vacation and milking off the government for a while...we will have to wait...
From the family side...my sister Amberly just had a baby boy..SO FREAKEN CUTE

His name is Michael Henry Miller...I havn't seen him in real life because they live in San Francisco and my sister and I aren't that close, but he is quite a cutie.
My brother also had a baby GIRL..she is just a doll and I HAVE seen her sweetface.
Meet Halle Marcia Hanson:

I know you are all dying to know when we are going to have one of our own and to that I will say....wait and see. =)

D-DAY

Gross huh??

So two weeks ago today was the day I almost DIED!!
It started out a normal Wednesday....got up went to work...then at around 9ish I started to feel.....not well. It felt like I had swallowed glass and it was ripping my insides....I of course thought this meant I was hungry so I quickly ate a sandwich.
I continued my day even as the pain got worse and I could no longer walk upright. I took this to mean that I just needed to sit down and do my phone calls.....when it became difficult to move....I found a convenient way to move in my chair and still dial the phone so I wouldn't move the parts that hurt....I know what your thinking....why on earth are you still at work when you are in such pain....and my answer is....I'm insane. Finally at 4ish (yes I almost worked a FULL day) I decided I needed to go home and lie down because I just wasn't feeling right.....That was the last day my staff saw me.
I drove myself home and crawled into bed......AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!! That was me as I screamed in pain when I tried to lie down. So that wasn't going to work so I moved to the couch where I sat up and started reading my homework. My husband is now looking at me strangely and suggests maybe we should go to the hospital...HMMMM...No I'm fine.
Shortly thereafter I ran to the bathroom to throw up. OK FINE! I'm not OK. Let's go to the ER. It is now 6:00pm
John drives my pajama clad self to LDS Hospital (they are SO nice there) and we figure we will be out by 10.
It wasn't busy and I was brought right back. They started an IV and drew blood the minute I got in. The Doctor came in immediately and asked what I was feeling. I told him "well it feels like I swallowed glass and my right side hurts all the way up into my shoulder" He asked if I was in pain now..to which I replied "No, only when I move or breath"..He took this to be a YES and the morphine started flowing. He thought at first I had a ectopic pregnancy that had ruptured and they would need to surgically remove the broken girl parts. But 3 pregnancy tests later and I was NOT pregnant....HMMMM....now they weren't sure what it was so I had to have a million ultrasounds and finally a CT of the abdomen...I was pretty out of it when they finally did the CT and when they injected the contrast I started to feel....strange....my throat started closing up and it became difficult to breath. As I was gasping for air they rushed me out of the CT room and started pumping me full of stuff to help me breath...They said I must have had an allergic reaction to the contrast.. (GREAT). But the good news was (I guess it was good news) that they found my problem! I had a 9cm cyst on my right ovary that had burst and ruptured a blood vessel and I had been bleeding internally ALL DAY! It was now 11 or so and I was rushed into surgery to remove the cyst and stop the bleeding.
The next day I woke up in the hospital and the doctor said that I had lost SO much blood that I needed a transfusion. I got 2 pints of fresh blood and I started to feel better =)
NOW I am on the long road to recovery. I have been home bound since the surgery and they say it will take 6 weeks for a full recovery! I am hoping to get off home restriction next week so I can go back to work and school. I had to drop one of my classes but the other two I can still take.
So wish me luck and a speedy recovery because sitting at home all day is BORING!
Love you all. Glad I didn't die!

HALLOWEEN!!!

Well I must admit I am not the biggest fan of Halloween. I have had to dress up every year and work for 9 hours in costume and that had put a damper on the joy of it all. But THIS year I did not have to work all day in a costume so putting one on for a party was not such a chore. John and I decided to go as Polygamists. We felt that was fitting........and Hilarious. So here are some great pictures of how AWESOME we looked. We actually fooled quite a lot of people. They really weren't sure if we were real of kidding.

SCHOOL DAYZ

Sorry for the long delay. I have gone back to school at good ol U of U to begin my degree in Civil Engineering. It has been going great so far. The first semester had been great! I still work 40hrs a week, so right now I have 2 classes for a total of 6 credit hours. So part time. I think it is great because then I have the time to actually learn. So that is what has been taking up all my time and I have loved every minute of it!
