Christmas, New Years...etc

Ok so I am really slow at this. So I am just going to put in a picture montage of the past holidays and life thus far.
We start with my work christmas party...they hold it at squatters with all the beer you can drink...so of course John is always excited for this event....you may not be able to tell from this picture...but he is SO HAPPY!

And here is a picture tribute to the rest of the evening.

And now on to Christmas! We had a lovely time. We decided that this year all babies get a giraffe for Christmas and everyone else got a handmade gift made by me from my pottery class. Everyone was so excited to get there 'special' gift. =)

I think that Roxie had the best christmas of all....Rachele got her and Sadie Christmas toys....Roxie STILL hasn't stopped tearing them apart...

Oh that was nice....New Years is not a big deal in our book so there are no pictures to document our evening...

That was the Holidays. Hope yours was nice as well.

THANKSGIVING!

Ahh, the blessed day when we all come together to share in the most wonderful feast of Turkey, Gravy, Stuffing, Gravy, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy...and some gravy on the side.

I began the festivities a day earlier by spending the day with my Aunt Evelyn to make my grandma's famous 'DREAMS'....Dreams are heavenly cream center chocolates that we have been making since I was a little girl..so I thought I should have my nieces come over to help us 'dip'. I remember growing up and helping my grandmother when I was their age dip the centers and roll them in nuts and salivate while they set up....the girls loved every minute of it and so did I.

And then it was time for the main event...the big show...TURKEY TIME!!
This year we spent thanksgiving with my family at my parents house. Everyone was there...

my favorite sister Rachele: (and Aaron...he's great too)

My niece Cristel with my Grandpa...(thanks grandpa for letting me mess up your house making chocolates!)

My cute little niece Halle (my brothers daughter)...she got to try a little thanksgiving too....She liked the potatoes.

Yes everyone was there and the food was great....but there was a little matter to attend to....My niece attends school at BYU Idaho, or Ricks as it was formerly called...and as you know, I attend the University of Utah....so there was a school war that needed to be handled ONCE AND FOR ALL....

We look happy together....but there is a storm brewing....

The fight begins....It's a close one....

But in the end...I AM VICTORIOUS!!! GO UTES!

This was my cheering section....(the rest of my family are BYU fans)

I specifically bought him a Ute shirt and made him wear it...I thought that would give me the advantage...and I think it did.

After we stuffed ourselves silly we followed our usual tradition and went to see a movie...this year it was New Moon. Even John went to see it, it was his first(and probably last)time seeing it...the rest of us are fans and this was a return trip =)

The rest of the weekend was filled with shopping...sleeping and sitting around..just what I like to do with my time off...

Now it's time for Christmas and all the hustle and bustle...sigh....

Halloween!!

So this year we once again joined Jaci for her party extraordinaire! It's difficult to get John to dress up....so in order to make this as painless as possible for him...He went as a lumberjack..and I went as a Tree. =)

I didn't get the memo that this was a sexy tit's party...as you can see, I'm a little out of place....

But no worries...I have fun no matter how much foliage I'm wearing! Thanks miss Jaci for the festivities...I'll bring out the twins for the next party I promise =)

Our Garden Harvest

So we decided to plant some gardens this summer. We planted a million tomato plants and some zucchini and potatoes. The problem seemed to be that we don't have much sun in the backyard because it is shaded by a bunch of lovely trees that keep it cool and nice all summer long...=) Well this is not good for plants. They die...or just produce sad little offerings...I thought you all might want to see our wonderful potato harvest.

I placed a quarter there so you could get the full effect of the size of these babies...these are not Idaho Spuds. The rest of the garden was the same...sad little tomatoes and not one single zucchini...
Oh well..I'm sure they will cook up nice =)

Baby Blues =(

Man what does it take to have a baby these days?

We waited 6 weeks after the miscarriage to even try to get pregnant again, and even then we needed to take meds to start up a cycle. Well we did everything we were supposed to do and we thought it had worked! I started having the nausea and was hungry all the time etc. etc...I took a test on Thursday and sure enough...POSITIVE! YEA! We did it! Now we just hope it sticks this time.

Well no later that I say those words when today I get up and see red...NO, not again! I call the doctor and they say I should go to the ER just to be safe and get a rhogam shot. Well..after five hours and blood tests and ultrasounds later...nothing...no babies...could have been a false positive or it just didn't continue to develop.

AAHHHHH!!!

So still nothing.....still waiting....still trying.

Wedding Spectacular

So this weekend we drove up to Boise Idaho for one of my oldest friends weddings. Teri grew up across the street from me so we have known each other since we were 3. So even though she moved all the way up to Idaho it wasn't going to stop me from being at her wedding.
It was a lovely wedding in a beautiful Methodist church. After the wedding came the reception at Lindy's steakhouse. John and I expected to eat a big steak but that was not what was waiting for us when we walked in......

A PIG!! Yes an entire pig just sat there looking at us...I had to put the flower in it's mouth so it wouldn't look so harsh.
But the fun was just beginning...they then began to dismember the little pig so it could feed us all...I have photographed the event for your enjoyment...

Poor piggy...this is just the beginning....

now they take the skin off.....

He just took off it's leg...

We already ate HALF THE PIG.....man it was SO tasty....I had seconds

We made short work of the delicious pig...here was all that was left

The pig was tasty but it was really about my sweet friend Teri...here we are together.

And my Johnny was there with me of course...

He is so silly........
